About the Studio

Architecture should feel inevitable, not imposed.

Datum began with a conviction that good buildings come from listening — to the people who'll use them and to the place they'll stand. We're a deliberately small studio, which means principals stay on every project from the first sketch to the final walkthrough, and nothing important gets handed off.

We design across scales — a thoughtful addition, a custom home, a workplace, a whole adaptive-reuse building — but the method is constant: establish the datum, work with the site, choose honest materials, and detail everything so it's drawn to be built. The result is architecture that's quietly precise and made to last.
